Prospect is Aotearoa’s emerging-designer fashion showcase. Held annually in Ōtautahi Prospect celebrates new voices, experimental practice, and the future of New Zealand fashion.
Prospect highlights craftsmanship, boundary-pushing design, and the shifting landscape of contemporary fashion in Aotearoa.
It is a space where emerging designers present collections shaped by process, experimentation, and cultural context — offering audiences a glimpse into the next generation of fashion visionaries
Prospect provided a platform to present my work within a community of designers who value experimentation, emotional depth, and rigorous craft. Showing my graduate collection, Architecture of Flesh, in this space allowed the garments to be experienced in motion – revealing how tension, softness, and structure behave on the body.
The runway environment intensified the collection’s themes: the quiet strain of fabric, the negotiation between control and vulnerability, and the presence of the body beneath architecture.
Sharing this work alongside other emerging designers was both grounding and energising, reinforcing the importance of creative risk and the future of fashion in Ōtautahi.
